ENCONTROS DE ALVITO

Alvito is a village in the heart of Alentejo, Portugal, known for
it’s tradition and gastronomy whose economy is based on the
production of oils and wines.

Alvito is also known for it's  large number of centuries-old olive trees. For many years, we pursued the idea of commemorating the
thousandth anniversary of one of them, with an artistic event.
The honoree would be the “lover's olive tree”.And so was born this festival whose test year was 2021.

Even with few resources, the tireless Gonçalo Pola and his faithful squire Tânia Baldé managed to make the event viable.Shows of music, dance, debate meetings and meetings between people were finally possible. In the wake of a pandemic that has stopped the world. The logo we’ve created speaks of "convergence"  when  viewed up closer. And it shows the "olive tree"  when seen  from afar.
Also in the first edition, we achieved a fantastic
partnership with Adega Cooperativa Vidigueira,
which developed the “Encontros de Alvito wine”
thanks to its president José Miguel Almeida and
designer Ana Coutinho, who has developed the labels.
